Billingsley Tire Web Design
This is a website we recently designed for Billingsley Tire in Coalinga, CA.
Design Concept
You think your business is traditional and you don’t need a website? Consider the following scenario … You’re on Highway 5 and blow out a tire. What do you do? Are you one of the few people that are always prepared and happen to have a tire service number with you? Probably not. Like most, you’d probably call home and someone on the other end will do a quick Google search and provide you with a number to call—That’s how many people find Bilingsley Tire in the small town of Coalinga.
We designed Billingsley’s site to reflect their services: fast, friendly, and convenient. This image-rich website does not contain a lot of text but provides all of the relevant information quickly. Billingsley’s phone number and address appear on all pages of the website. The map is prominent and shows Billingsley’s service area at a glance. The friendly character in the top center draws attention to both the phone number in the upper left and the “OPEN” sign in the upper right which boldly emphasizes their 24-hour access.
Though the site seems simple, a lot of thought goes into the design. Some barely there details include the replication of the tire shape throughout the site. Did you notice that all of the image edges are rounded and that the “Who”, “Where”, “What” icons change to tires when you point to them?

Encore Vision Centers Web Design
This is a website we designed for Encore Vision Centers in Scottsdale, AZ.
Design Concept
We created this website for Encore Vision Centers. In addition to being visually appealing, this site contains lots of valuable information for those persons interested in Corneal Refractive Therapy or LASIK.
Dr. Bruce’s picture is prominently displayed in the header to give both a personal and professional impression. The teal color scheme is consistent with Encore’s logo and is replicated throughout the site.
Flash media is used to create eye-catching graphics that draw extra attention to Encore’s slogan. The central image contributes to a fresh presentation with pronounced focus on the eyes, reinforcing their service provision.
Encore’s address and phone numbers are front and center for quick access to the most relevant and frequently sought information. Some other details that are useful for their customers include the picture of the location and the convenient map link.

Tempe Eyecare Associates Web Redesign
This is a web site designed for Tempe Eyecare Associates.
Website Redesign: Before and After
Dr. John Chrisagis of Tempe Eyecare Associates has been a well-respected optometrist for more than 20 years in the Phoenix, AZ area, but his Web site did not do his good name justice. The site needed re-designing to reflect the doctor’s professional standing and leave a good impression on current and potential patients. At the same time, it needed to be consistent with the Web site of his partner, Encore Vision Centers (also a client of Good Characters).
Solution
Dr. John and Good Characters worked together, communicating mostly via e-mail, to determine the primary goal for the Web site and how to achieve that goal with a new design.
Dr. John said that his goal for the website was “to make us more accessible to the public and let them know what we do and how we do it. We need to tell people that we have the latest products and designs in eyewear and contacts, and we want to impress potential customers. My goal for the website is that it makes people want to make an appointment with us.”
Good Characters | Advanced E-Business
- incorporated a layout and color scheme similar to the one we developed for Encore Vision Centers to reinforce the partnership of the two practices
- improved image quality and optimized the site so viewers can download quickly
- included the company’s contact information on every page to make it easy for viewers to make an appointment
Result
The redesigned website is more attractive, reflects Tempe Eyecare Associates’ professional status, and is easier to use. It is a small investment that yields positive results for years to come.
